I am a clinical psychologist in Sydney with over thirty years’ experience, with particular areas of expertise in:
- Stress, anxiety and depression.
- Relationship issues
- School performance anxiety (late adolescence)
- Issues of sexuality and sexual identity
- Grief and bereavement
- Life transitions
My undergraduate training was in South Africa and I completed my Masters and Doctoral degrees in the USA. I have published research in the areas of anxiety and neuropsychology, have worked in the public sector in hospitals in the USA, and have consulted to the NSW Departments of Education and Department of Health.
The uniqueness of each person’s life means that I work in a different way with every person. My training includes a diverse range of therapeutic approaches, including psychodynamic and family systems approaches, and cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT). I work with patients on a short- and long-term basis, depending on the nature of the issues.
We have the capacity to transform ourselves, given a safe, confidential and understanding space within which to explore our issues. Profound change and greater enjoyment of life are possible, given commitment and courage.
I am a Medicare Psychologist Provider registered with the Australian Health Providers Registration Authority, the Australian Psychological Society and I am a Fellow of the APS College of Clinical Psychologists.
